On Sunday, 30 April, RAAF Base Williamtown will host the NSW Kids in Need ‘World’s Largest Open House’ charity event from 10am to 2pm.
To support the activity, a special precinct of the Base will be open to members of the general public, which will showcase a variety of Air Force static displays and attractions.
A maximum of 2000 tickets are available via online donation through the NSW Kids In Need website: www.nswkidsinneed.org.au/raaf/
Senior Australian Defence Force Officer at Williamtown, Air Commodore Craig Heap, said the event will raise funds for the six charities that benefit through the NSW Kids In Need foundation:
“We are proud to join with organisations such as the Royal Australian Navy and New South Wales Fire and Rescue to support NSW Kids in Need,” Air Commodore Heap said.
Air Commodore Heap went on to say that the charity event at RAAF Base Williamtown will showcase some locally based Air Force assets:
“Static displays include current Air Force aircraft, such as the F/A-18 Hornet, Hawk 127 Lead In Fighter aircraft and the E-7A Wedgetail, as well as a Panther Fire Truck,” he said.
The RAAF Base Williamtown NSW Kids In Need charity event is as part of a state-wide fundraising activity involving military establishments, emergency services and locations of interest which usually have restricted access to the general public.
