Tindal
Originally constructed as a heavy bomber base during World War II, Tindal had no aircraft based there during the war, and was never used operationally. From 1963 to 1970, the base was redeveloped by No 5 Airfield Construction Squadron, and served as a bare base for many years. In the 1980s, Tindal was further developed into an operational base, officially opening in 1989. It is now home to the F/A-18 Hornets of No 75 Squadron.
