On 31 March 2021, the Royal Australian Air Force marked 100 years of service to Australia. During 2021 and early 2022, RAAF conducted a series of commemorations and initiatives to:
- honour the service and sacrifice of past and present Air Force members,
- strengthen public awareness of Air Force’s enduring support to national interests and
- inspire the next generation’s interest in Air Force and aviation more broadly.
The Centenary program theme was Then. Now. Always.
Air Force Centenary commemorations occurred in Canberra, at all major bases around Australia, deployed locations in the Middle East and at many Australian High Commissions and Embassies. All events were conducted in accordance with local health COVID-19 requirements.
