Air Force Bereaved Family Lapel Pins

The Bereaved Family Lapel Pin is a distinctive 20mm gold plated pin with raised crossed wattle sprigs atop the RAAF Eagle and the inscription Air Force underneath. The pin is a recognition by Air Force of the contribution and value of Air Force members who have died and passing that appreciation to families. The pin is presented in a black velvet box with a card that reads:

This lapel pin is presented by the Chief of Air Force in recognition that your loved one, who was a valued member of the Royal Australian Air Force, has died in Service. May you look upon this pin in remembrance and wear it with pride.

The pin is available to the family of an Air Force member who has died in service or following their service. There is no specific limit on the number of family members or their relationship to the deceased Air Force member, nor is there a limit on the number of pins available to each family.
