F-35A Lightning II aircraft to conduct low-level flypast over RAAF Base Williamtown, NSW, following completion of operational conversion course

The next generation of F-35A Lightning II fast jet pilots are graduating from the No. 2 Operational Conversion Unit and Operational Conversion Course following a successful deployment to RAAF Base Townville for Exercise High Sierra. To recognise this milestone, up to eleven Royal Australian Air Force F-35A Lightning II aircraft from No. 81 wing will conduct a pair of low-level flypasts over RAAF Base Williamtown as the culminating activity.

All low level flying activities are conducted within strict safety and operational guidelines.

Flying is subject to change, including short notice cancellation, due to variables such as air traffic control requirements, weather, and operational availability.

Noise reduction and the environment are vital considerations in the planning and conduct of military flying.

Further information about the F-35A Lightning II can be found on the F-35A Lightning II page.

Imagery of the F-35A Lightning II is available on the Defence Image Gallery.
