F/A-18F flying display rehearsal for Riverfire by Australian Retirement Trust

On 2 September, an F/A-18F Super Hornet aircraft from RAAF Base Amberley will conduct several low level rehearsal flights in preparation for this year’s Riverfire by Australian Retirement Trust on 3 September.

Information regarding the F/A-18F is available on our Technology page.

Flying is subject to change, including short notice cancellation, due to variables such as air traffic control, weather and operational requirements.

Safety, noise management and the environment are vital considerations in the planning and conduct of Defence flying activities, and participating squadrons will operate with a view to minimising the impact on local communities.

Fast, high-powered passes by military jets create significant noise and the public should not be alarmed if they see or hear military aircraft flying low over inner city suburbs.

Drone flying is prohibited prior to and during the rehearsal because of the dangers this poses to low-flying aircraft.
