Number 77 Squadron conducts water-survival training in Shoal Bay

Number 77 Squadron, from RAAF Base Williamtown, will conduct a wet winching survival activity over the Port Stephens area at Shoal Bay on Friday 01 March 2024.

Wet winching is an important survival training activity for Royal Australian Air Force aircrew. It ensures they maintain currency in combat survival techniques and the proper use of aircraft life-support equipment.

Training also ensures search and rescue crews remain current in the use of their rescue capabilities. The RAAF Base Williamtown CHC search and rescue helicopter will conduct the activity.
