RAAF Base East Sale will open to the public for Open Day between 9:00am-1:00pm on Sunday, 20 October 2024.
The Open Day is a free community event but visitors will require an entry ticket for crowd management and services. Tickets will not be available at the event and must be pre-purchased via Eventbrite from 6 October until ticket allocation is exhausted (children aged 5 and under do not require a ticket)
The RAAF Base East Sale Community Open Day may be subject to change or cancellation at short notice due to adverse weather conditions.
The Open Day is a great opportunity to see the Pilatus PC-21 aircraft in operation with a flyover at 10:00am.
The PC-21 will also be on ground display, along with the King Air and SAR helicopter. There will also be a range of military equipment, flight simulators, ground combat demonstrations, ADF Careers and Cadets, firefighting vehicles, and obstacle courses for kids. Please see the event map and timings below.
Food stalls, free water refills, a shaded seating area and amenities will be available throughout the day. Please note that most food vendors will be ‘Card-only’. Personal food and non-alcoholic drinks may be brought into the Open Day. BBQs and Drones are not permitted.

Vehicle access to RAAF Base East Sale is via Aerodrome Road. Dedicated event parking will be available on base, and will occur under direction of base personnel.
Bag and vehicle checks will be conducted ahead of entry. Persons without tickets will not be granted access (nil exceptions). Children 5 and under do not require a ticket. Attendees are advised that whilst on base there is no smoking outside of designated areas, this includes e-cigarettes.
