Join us on Friday, March 22, 2024 at RAAF Base Townsville for an unforgettable day of adventure and discovery. This free event offers a rare opportunity to immerse yourself in the exciting world of the Australian Defence Force.
From 10am to 2pm, get a close-up look at Australian Defence Force aircraft, see a range military equipment and displays and speak with our serving members.
Food and refreshments will be available throughout the day.

Conditions of Entry
Wear flat enclosed shoes. Visitors will be denied entry if enclosed footwear is not worn.
Bag searches will be conducted.
No alcohol permitted.
No pets allowed with the exception of assistance animals.
Parking
Defence is unable to provide onsite parking at RAAF Base Townsville. A bus service will run to help the public get to the RAAF Townsville Museum entrance on Ingham Road. Buses will start 09:45 from the following locations:
1. Mather Street bus stop (Bayswater Road opposite Brothers Football Club), Highfields
2. Corner of Dalrymple Service Road and Yarrowee Street, Currajong
3. Ingham Road (Opposite Brown and Hurley Trucks), West End
4. King Street bus stop Showgrounds, Townsville CBD
Buses will conclude at 3pm.
This event will be outdoors, so please monitor the weather and bring a hat, sunscreen and water. The RAAF Base Townsville Community Open Day may be subject to change, or cancellation, at short notice due to adverse weather.
