Up to two F-35A Lightning II aircraft will regularly land at and depart from Kununurra airport during Exercise Arnhem Thunder, from 31 October to 9 November 2023. The aircraft will use the airport during the day only and not over the weekends.
Exercise Arnhem Thunder is a Royal Australian Air Force training activity operating from RAAF Base Tindal in the Northern Territory. The exercise will include fighter jets from Number 75 Squadron at RAAF Tindal, NT and Number 77 Squadron at RAAF Williamtown in NSW.
Exercises are essential to maintain Defence’s high training standards and operational capability.
Flying is subject to change due to variables such as air traffic control requirements, weather, and other aviation considerations.
