Number 78 Wing units of Air Combat Group will resume aircraft training into Salt Ash Air Weapons Range (SAAWR), near RAAF Base Williamtown, from Monday 29 July 2024.
Flying will commence with Number 76 Squadron Hawk Lead-in-Fighter aircraft beginning Monday 29 July through to Friday 16 August 2024. Operations will be conducted on weekdays only, between the hours 9am to 5pm. An additional week, 19 to 23 August, is programmed as a reserve in the event poor weather or operational changes impact the training program.
PC-21s and Combat Controllers from Number 4 Squadron will use the range intermittently over this period for essential training.
Residents living in East Medowie, Salt Ash and Lemon Tree Passage should expect the range to be used consistently throughout this period.
There is currently no programmed training scheduled for F-35A Lightning II aircraft on SAAWR.
The range schedule could change at short notice due to weather or operational considerations
