The Heritage Centre occupies 4 WWII Bellman hangars and is home to a number of historical RAAF aircraft including:
- Canberra Bomber A84-242
- Caribou A4-236
- Douglas A20G Havoc – “Hell’n Pelican”
- F-111 A8-126
- Sabre A94-962
- Aircraft engines
- F-111 Crew Module
- World War II Jeep
- Aircraft refuelling vehicles, and
- A wide variety of armaments
Opening times
The RAAF Amberley Heritage Centre is open 9 am to 3 pm, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and the third Sunday of every month (excluding December).
Bookings
Bookings are essential for all visits. Please complete the Amberley Heritage Centre Booking Request Form and email it to raaf.aahc@defence.gov.au, at least seven days prior to your planned visit.
The Heritage Centre can support a maximum of 30 adults in a group, however we have the following arrival time limitations, based on group size:
- Small groups (1-5 adults) can choose 8.30am, 9.30am or 12.15pm
- Medium groups (6-20 adults) can choose 9.30am or 12.15pm
- Large groups (21-30 adults) will be hosted at 12.15pm.
Sunday Open Days
Our Sunday Open Days occur on the third Sunday of the month.
Sunday Open Day bookings are made through Eventbrite. Bookings close at 4 pm, 11 days prior to the Open Day.

Entry requirements
Amberley Heritage Centre is located on RAAF Base Amberley. On arrival at the front gate, visitors will met by one of the Heritage Centre team members.
Visitors must bring:
- copy of Online Base Induction completion email
- reservation confirmation
- photographic identification as recorded on your reservation confirmation (Photos of identification documents are not accepted).
Pets, alcohol and firearms are prohibited on base. Registered assistance dogs are permitted upon application.
Photography is only permitted inside Heritage Centre precinct.
Volunteering
The Amberley Heritage Centre is run by a combination of Air Force Reserve members and dedicated volunteer staff.
